Welcome to the build of Battlestar Galactica “white edition” Bandai-Monogram n° 37023, scale 1:4105.
The model is very old and I managed to receive it from U.S.A.. The box was damaged and the parts were all yellowish and the decals were basically destroyed.
This was the original box.

There are not so many pictures of what I’ve done because I was not thinking too much at the time.
Basically first I painted the internal of the hull with black and then in chrome to have a reflective internal surface because my idea was to apply light inside.
However the model was basically without any windows, except for the two main hangars on each side of the ship, so with a lot of patience I made hudreds of drills as indicated by the TV show slideshows and I tried to light the rear thrusters, creating some surfaces with transparent PVC.

Then I started to insert the various LEDs inside to have enough light from all holes and from the back thrusters. After a few checks I was ready and so I started to paint the external red stripes (all destroyed as decals) and apply the few decals that remained (luckily the Galactica writings).

Something that unfortunately is not seen from the picture is the fact that I was able to find a picture of the internal of the hangars from the TV show so I created a little internal box in paper showing exactly how it was intended to be and I fixed in the inside. The effect was really realistic but cannot be shown. Probably I will add some pictures of the finished model when I will be able to.

This is how the front and the side are lit from inside. For the windows I used crystal clear glu with some biut of color to simulate the red of the sides and some blue/green just to give a bit of color to the model.

As usual a final coat of transparent Matte protective was needed.
The pictures in the dark are not splendid but this is basically the final result when lit.

Hope you enjoyed the build.
